Amores De Blanco Y Negro

Sinopsis del libro

libro Amores De Blanco Y Negro

This eBook is written in Spanish and is an original work of fiction. It was inspired by the author’s many hours of watching old black and white Mexican films. “Amores de Blanco y Negro” is a tribute to the so-called, The “golden age” of Mexican cinema. However, it is also a deep and personal reflection on how these films shaped the cultural context of the author himself. And how that same cultural background bleeds into New Mexico stories. If “Amores de Blanco y Negro” is a tribute to the entirety of the “golden age”, it is particularly inspired by the 1940 film “En Tiempos de Don Porfirio” directed by Juan Bustillo Oro. “Amores de Blanco y Negro is written from the point of view of the First Person, because it belongs to the Epistolary genre. Which means it’s written in the form of a letter. “Amores de Blanco y Negro” being a tribute to Mexican cinema, presents several of its tropes. However, not in the expected form. The story takes place in 1918, during the Spanish flu pandemic. Synopsis: It is 1918. The Mexican Revolution is not yet over. A new disease is spreading as the world recovers from the Great War. Mexico City is a ghost town. In this country, people are dying, of this or that. And, in the middle of it all, a love letter is written. Will it get to its destination or will it be forgotten over time?
