The powers of the word: this label implies questioning those powers through interpretation as well as questioning interpretation itself. That is the aim of analysts from the five schools in the Freudian Field belonging to the World Association of Psychoanalysis. The irreducible character of the drive to the signifier, far from invalidating it, assigns its objective to interpretation: it is only one side of the discourse, not the whole of it, and points to the cause of desire.
